How can I check whether I have a DVD BURNER?
When I checked my hardware specifications [in Control panel -> Systems -> Hardware (tab) -> Device Manager] it lists: DVD/CDRW . Does this mean I have a rewritable CD drive and a read-only DVD drive? [I know I can burn CDs, and I can definitely READ DVDS] Or does it mean I have a DVD burner? How do I find this out? I really want to burn some DVDs. The guy who sold me this computer said he put a DVD burner on it but I think he’s lying and he may have ripped me off. The few answers I have received haven’t quite hit the nail on the head. Many thanks for your help. -Ben
Virtually all modern DVD Burners have a stylized ‘RW’ logo on the drive bay door, with the words “DVD+Rreadwriteable” underneith in small print. I have included a link to the picture you will be looking for: http://lacie.de/imgstore/product_container/dvd+rw_logo.jpg
