Is this a good Ukulele deal?
I have just seen a brilliant deal (or at least what I think to be a brilliant deal) on a website, offering me a polished mahogany Ukulele, gig case, play along CD, DVD and teach yourself the ukulele book, all for £30!
Here’s the deal here: http://www.musicroom.com/se/ID_No/0450560/details.html
I don’t play the Ukulele, but I do play the violin and saxophone, so I know how to read music. Would you recommend my learning this instrument, and if so, would this deal be a wise buy?
Thanks for any answers!
BlackJack13,
Looks like a nice little instrument and I’m all for the geared tuners for a beginner. I’m more impressed by the book, CD, and DVD. $60, American, it seems like a good price.
However, not to confuse you, but you can learn a lot off the internet….FREE! Lessons, songs, chord charts, etc. And you can see beginner lessons on Youtube.
Here’s a great site for beginners that has all kinds of info and will link you to nearly anything you want to know about a ukulele.

As for a ukulele check out a Lanikai LU-21 or 21C from http://www.americanmusical.com/ItemSearch–search-ukulele–srcin-1
Take a look at the reviews (over on the right) and you’ll see it’s a pretty good ukulele at a really good price.
Have fun,

August Rush $2.93 Music has long been considered a universal language with the power to bring people together, but can the simple act of playing music possibly unite a child with a mother and father who live in two different cities and don’t even know of the child’s existence? Mad Men: Season Two $13.95 Mad Men returns, and guess what? It’s still one of the best shows on TV. Season two continues the slow progression to absolute greatness. The first season left us with a number of cliffhangers, and the beginning of the second season doesn’t cleanly wrap things up. Instead, we leap forward nearly 2 years and are thrown into an even more tumultuous time where the Norman Rockwell-idea… |

Northern Exposure – The Complete Fifth Season $19.49 Welcome back to Cicely, Alaska, where whimsy and magical realism are always in season. While Northern Exposure’s heart is as big as all outdoors, its charms are starting to wear a little thin in its penultimate season, particularly John Cullum’s New Age-y DJ McDreamy, Chris (one longs for that season 1 episode in which he lost his voice). But there is compensation in such sweet, unexpected moments… |
