where to put the rocks and lava inside a box Gasgrill smoking?
I never use a Gasgrill Before I just bought a Char-Broil 4 Burner Model: 463,268,007 using natural gas to be connected at home. It seems that the more I can get temp is only 250 with all 4 burners set on high for 15 minutes. but it does not seem to grasp the steak within 1 min. I also noticed that it seems that the backward region is warmer and the area near the front, near the lip is not so hot. I would like to know what is the right temp to take the steak and what temp to cook the steak right after burning them. I also bought a smoker box and some walnut shavings and a bag ceramic, but I'm not sure how to use these commands, where to? Is it below the burner or between the burner and grill BBQ? I asked the man, sales of Lowes and he does not know either. There are 4 triangle metal plate under the grill rack to prevent the fall of the fat on fire, is that means that my model does not use lava rocks? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Hello! Looks like you have four questions all wrapped in one. I will address each separately: 1.Premièrement and especially to express his concern about the temperature of your grill. 250 degrees from above, after warming up is not an appropriate temperature. Assuming that your grill is new and in good condition without burners blocked or other problems, I am afraid the problem may be that you do not have a sufficient buffer for the use of natural gas. Natural gas requires a higher rate of flow that the liquid propane (LP). This normally uses LP grill so if you use the controller that came with the grill you do insufficient flow of gas to achieve sufficient heat. You can buy adapters with the appropriate connectors and regulators for natural gas to convert the grill. I recommend you consult Char-Broil or grill your local specialty store for proper equipment. I suspect this should resolve this problem. 2.Steak should be entered on a hot fire. The goal is to create a beautiful surface, burnt caramelized on the meat quickly. If the grid surface is less than 400-500 degrees, it will not enter quickly. How long you cook the steak after Searing depends on the degree of doneness you prefer. For rare or medium rare term, you do not really need to continue firing after each side is burned. For cooking, after Searing high heat, you can move the steak to lower indirect heat (covered in the ideal) to continue the cooking processes. This should be short to medium-rare to medium and longer if you prefer cooked throughout. 3.The metal bars triangular on your burners are called "Flavorizer Bars" by Weber, but in fact they do not add flavor. The lava rocks do not add the flavor really either. The purpose of lava rocks or ceramic briquettes to absorb, hold and radiate heat to the temperature on the grill surface is more uniform and consistent. Many grills are constructed with supports to keep these rocks or ceramic briquettes, but it sounds like yours does not work. You can still use rocks if it is possible to place them on the metal bars on top of your burners and under your cooking grill and they remain there. If there is no room or if they will be touching the grill area I would recommend going without them. 4.Finally you asked about the smoking box and smoking wood chips such as walnut. The exact place the smoker box is filled between the burner and grill grate. Most people recommend soaking wood chips in water for about 30 minutes before putting in the box and into your grill. This helps prevent burn quickly, so they give the smoke slowly and for a longer period. However, you do not soak them if you do not want to. Also note that most of the wood especially if they are soaked, take 10 to 20 minutes to start smoking than once that you place on fire. Therefore, add the box to start smoking before starting to cook your food. In addition, during cooking, keep the grill lid closed as much as possible to preserve the aromatic smoke so that permeate your food more completely. I hope all this helps! Good luck with your new grill and grilling happy!
